New Central Hub Expansion at Magic Kingdom is a go!

The Magic Kingdom is expanding again. Rumored for sometime now the new central hub expansion project at the Magic Kingdom has now been made official and construction has started.  The expansion will provide much needed relief for traffic flow to the world's busiest theme park and give even more viewing areas for the nightly fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom.

The new design will provide additional seating at Casey's Corner and The Plaza with the main area of the hub closest to Main Street U.S.A. widened. Frequent guests and locals will love the new area as it will be a perfect spot to catch Wishes, or the Parades and then exit the park. The new outer hub will make moving to the other parks areas much easier during parade of events, as most of us know it is a nightmare to try and move through the hub when it is lined with guests waiting for a show.

Current Central Hub

The path that ran from the hub toward Tomorrowland (where the old Swan boats attraction was located) is being removed and is most likely going to be home to the new sculpted gardens that is referenced in a Disney press release.

Central Hub 2015

The entire area is scheduled to be completed by early 2015 and should give a little more breathing room to the busiest area of the park.

You can find a CGI flyover link below.

Enjoy!!
